HARRY PETERS Harry Peters passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 29, 2010 with his loving wife Louise at his side. He was born on September 23, 1928 on the family farm near Ile des Chenes, Manitoba to Jacob Peters and Elizabeth Isaak Peters. Harry moved to Winnipeg to complete his high school education, graduating from MBCI in 1951. In 1955 Harry married Louise Dick. They were blessed with four sons and one daughter. Harry was offered a position at Crosstown Credit Union in 1956. In 1964 he was promoted to Manager. He guided Crosstown through many changes and much growth until his retirement in 1993. Harry lived a life of service, volunteering with Camp Arnes, Christian Service Brigade, Gideons, MCC, Christian Business Men and as a deacon in his church. He is survived by Louise and their children and grandchildren, Allan (Kathy), Michael, Brett, Jillian (Nathan McGillivray); Joanne (Charles Dueck), Scott and Lindsay; James (Christine), Amanda and Adam; David (Louise Sinclair-Peters), Kyla, Micah, Grace, Sierra; Richard (Anita) and Travis. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Elise Sinclair-Peters and by all his siblings. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideons or to the ALS Society of Manitoba. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Portage Avenue Church, 1420 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
