RONALD RICHARD SHUTTLEWORTH 1949 - 2010 After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Dad peacefully passed away at home in Oshawa, ON on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at the age of 61. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandy; children Kim (Leonard), Roley (Leanne), Erin (Wade) and Stacey (Matt); and their mother Pat; grandchildren Calder, Sydney, Nolan, Lauren, Brooke, Abbey and one on the way; sisters Sandy (Bruce) and Terry (Larry); brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and many friends. He will also be missed by his four legged buddies Shep and Shadow. Dad was predeceased by his father George (1983), his mother Margaret (2002), and his sister Pat (1963). Dad was born on June 5, 1949 and grew up in Charleswood. In his youth he enjoyed playing hockey, baseball, working on cars and hanging out with his friends. While raising his kids he enjoyed watching them play the various sports and activities they were involved in. Dad worked as an electrician for over 30 years and was a proud member of the IBEW Local 2085. Eventually his work brought him to Oshawa where he met his soul mate Sandy and they married on February 21, 2004. Thanks to Sandy we knew Dad was in good hands no matter what life threw at them. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dad's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society. They'll lead me safely through the night and I'll follow as though blind.
