She is survived by her daughters, Darlene (George) Grimstead, Susan (Gary) Homeniuk and Charlotte (Darryl) Barr, her pride and joy her grandchildren, Mikayla Grimstead, Sheridan Barr and Dylan Barr. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Ester Kozyra and Sally Rosolowich as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by her husband Paul; parents Minnie and Joseph Kozyra, brother Stan Kozyra and sister Angeline Hiley. Mom was born on the family farm in Meleb in 1928. From a young girl, mom took a passion to sewing and knitting. Up until her recent illness, she took great pride in knitting slippers, mitts and scarves for family, especially her grandchildren. Her skills as a seamstress are recognized by the vast wardrobe she had in her closet. Her biggest accomplishment and joy was sewing Darlene's wedding gown upon her marriage. Rose met Paul Rosolowich at a local Saturday community dance in the small hamlet of Meleb and as they say, the rest is history. Rose and Paul were married May 21, 1949. Together they ran the Cloverleaf store on the corner of Highway 7 and Meleb Road. Mom and Dad ran the store, raised a family here until dad's passing in 1995. Mom stayed on at her home for a short time before moving to Teulon, where she made many friends at Prairie Estates. With declining health, Rose moved to Winnipeg with Susan and Gary until her passing. While living in Meleb, a strong kinship was developed over the years with friends and family. For many years, she was a member of volunteer ladies group who ensured that the church was spic and span for church gatherings. A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, November 4, 2010 at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church in Meleb, Manitoba. Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. with viewing one hour prior to the church service. Father Harry Chuckry will be officiating. Thank you to the palliative care team and nurses for their support and guidance during mom's brief stay at home. Vichnaya Pam'yat MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.
