RAMSAY JOHN HUSKA July 29, 1949 - October 30, 2010 Surrounded by his four favourite girls, Ramsay John Huska passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital in the early hours of Saturday, October 30, 2010 after a courageous struggle with Multiple System Atrophy. Ramsay will be lovingly remembered by his dedicated wife Linda, of 23 years of marriage, (nee Bohdanovich); children, Annette (Garry), Lesley, Lindsay (Jude); sisters Patricia Wallman and Susan Stefaniuk (Mel); mother-in-law Jean Bohdanovich; brother-in-law Larry Bohdanovich (Carolyn); aunts Vicki Buttsman and Jean Urbanski; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and his faithful buddy Mia. Born on July 29, 1949 in Winnipeg, MB Ramsay was raised in the RM of Brokenhead. From an early age, he was naturally inclined to figure out how everything worked. This led to a lifelong passion for cars in both restoration and driving. Ramsay worked for several transportation companies, some of which were Greyhound, Texaco, Shell and 7-Up. Later, his career took him out of the driver's seat and into the office environment where he worked as a facilitator / teacher at the Manitoba Safety Council. Ramsay then joined Manitoba Public Insurance Corporation where he worked in the Road Safety Department until his retirement. Ramsay had a great love for the outdoors, which included the hobbies of fishing, camping, snowmobiling and bird watching. He was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing several of them, with golf being his favourite. He took great pleasure in his fish and he was also a known antique collector', which reminded him of years gone past. We smile thinking of how he could start a conversation with just about anyone. Everyone that met Ramsay liked him, enjoyed his company and had a way of making one laugh. A private family interment will be held on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. in St. Vital Cemetery, 236 River Road. A Celebration of Ramsay's life will follow for all at 1:00 p.m. in The United Church in Meadowood, 1111 Dakota Street, Winnipeg, MB. The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the doctors and staff of the Movement Disorder Clinic; Dr. Van Rensburg, and finally that of the dedicated doctors and nurses at the Victoria General Hospital. A very special Thank You is extended to the Provincial Home Care office staff and workers for their daily compassion, smiles and care which allowed Ramsay to enjoy his life at home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Ramsay's memory be sent to the Movement Disorder Clinic Winnipeg, Deer Lodge Centre Foundation, 2109 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3J 0L3.
