MORLYNE CLARK 1947 - 2010 Peacefully and surrounded by her loving family, Morlyne passed away Sunday, October 31, 2010 at the age of 63 years. Joann Morlyne Schenk Clark was born September 29, 1947 at Swan Lake, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her father Joseph Schenk of Swan Lake and two infant siblings. Mourning her passing are her husband David Clark of 41 years; and children, Bruce (Cheryl), Sharon and Trevor (Dana); her mother Iris Schenk (nee Tompkins); and brother Robert Schenk (Rachel), all of Winnipeg. Lasting tributes to Morlyne's memory can be found in the lives of her children and her service to her church community. Throughout her life Morlyne generously shared her gift of music and love. She faced her illness with the same grace and courage she showed at all challenging times in life. Professional pursuits started with teaching primary school, first in Cypress River and then in Dauphin, followed by many years of office work in Winnipeg with Tan Jay / Nygard International and later working for Canadian Choral Centre. Over the years, Morlyne's love of children led to a home day care business. Her passion for music had her furthering her interest in piano and eventually teaching piano to children. Morlyne loved to sing and was a proud member of the Kirkfield Park United Church Choir. She valued her church, the UCW, the Eastern Star and her community. Her curiosity for travel and cultural interests led her to a number of destinations around the world including Egypt, Cuba, Alaska, Mexico, Hawaii and New Zealand. Her interest in photography knew no bounds with the digital camera and she loved to experiment with composition and lighting. Often she would rise early, stay up late and always stop to photograph a scene that would catch her eye. She will be remembered for her music, her singing, her baking and her inner strength. Most of all she will be missed for her many contributions to the community. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 4 at Kirkfield Park United Church, 472 Kirkfield Street, Winnipeg. A light lunch will be served, followed by interment at Beaconsfield Cemetery near Treherne. If friends wish, a donation in lieu of flowers may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Street, Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 in memory of Morlyne Clark. NEIL BARDAL INC.
