LORRAINE MCPHERSON (nee RATHERT) July 20, 1932 - November 2, 2010 Peacefully in the early morning with Karen by her side, mom passed away at her home, The Golden Links Lodge. She was predeceased by her husband Art of 50 years, her parents, four brothers, two brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law. She leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Wayne (Cheryl), Mark, Warren, and her daughter Karen (Darryl), six grandchildren Roberta (Travis), Ellen, Andrew, Deborah (William), David, and Ryan, four foster grandchildren, Shania, Steven, Sheila and Jordan. Her only great-grandchild Drea, David's daughter. Mom was also grandma to 23 other foster grandchildren. Mom married dad October 21, 1952, and farmed with dad and raised their kids till dad retired from farming in 1979 when he and mom and their two youngest moved into Sanford. In 1990 mom and dad moved into Mandan Manor. After dad's passing, Mom stayed at the Manor until October of 2008 when she had fallen and had a short stay in the Carman Hospital until she moved into the Golden Links Lodge January 27, 2009. She was happy and content there once she settled in and thank-you so much to the nurses and staff (to many to name) for the excellent care of mom. Thank-you for making my staying there with mom the most comfortable those last couple of days. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Doyle's Funeral Chapel, Carman. Interment will take place at the Sanford Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
