D. ANDREW GUNTER July 28, 1955 - November 1, 2010 After a courageous battle with multiple myeloma, it is with great sadness that the family announces the death of D. Andrew Gunter of Hnausa, Manitoba loving husband of Catherine (McNamara) Gunter on Monday, November 1, 2010 at the Arborg District Health Centre. Born in Fredericton New Brunswick, he lived the greater part of his life in White's Cove, New Brunswick on the family farm. In 1999, he moved his family to Manitoba where they settled on the shores of Lake Winnipeg. Andrew loved to spend his spare time fishing on the dock in Hnausa with his friends, children and grandchildren. Andrew will be remembered for his quick wit and loving heart. Besides his wife, Catherine, he is survived by four daughters, Lindsay Giesbrecht (Joseph), Courtney Berube (David), Jamie Yanishewski (Jeff), Carmen Kube (Mike) and five grandchildren Joshua, Matthew, Sara-Lynn, Morgan and Isabelle, all of Manitoba; his mother, Lucille Gunter and sisters, Joanne Clingo and Lisa Gunter, all of White's Cove New Brunswick; several nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law, Barbara McNamara of Hampton New Brunswick. Predeceased by infant children, Timothy and Morgan, his father Donald Gunter and father-in-law, John McNamara. The family would like to thank the medical and nursing staff of GD6 and Chemo Clinics at HSC for their compassion and support over the past few months. Special thanks to Dr. Seftel, Dr. Ade, Dr. Bow, Dr. Szwajcer, Jennifer, Cathy and Chris. Also thank you to the staff at Arborg District Health Centre. Your gentle approach to Andrew's care was much appreciated. No visitation by request of the family. A celebration of his life will be held at the Arborg Christian Fellowship Church on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow. At Andrew's request, a private family interment will take place in Jemseg, NB at a later date.
