HUGO MASESAR SR. With family by his side, Hugo Masesar Sr. passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 1, 2010. Left to cherish his memory are his children Ofelia (Manny), Pio (Linda), Gil (Rebecca), Onofre (Melba), Cecilia (Jessie), Maria Elda (Dominador), Othello (Angie), and Charito (Edwin), 31 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law Erlinda and Nenita as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Hugo was predeceased by his wife, Fe and their four sons Jose, Virgilio, Herminio and Hugo Jr. Hugo Sr. was born in Iloilo, Philippines to parents Agapito and Dorotea Masesar. He met and married Fe in 1938 and raised 12 children before moving his family to Winnipeg in 1976. He was very active at St. Edward's Church and enjoyed reading, praying and helping his wife babysit many, many children. Hugo loved to read, especially his Bible and was very devoted to serving the church. He will be greatly missed by all who know him. The family would like to thank Home Care and their staff especially Imelda, Cecilia and Mila who provided many years of care. Lamay will be held Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, from 6:00 p.m. 12:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edward's Church, 818 Arlington Street, with interment and reception to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
