DONALD LEONARD OLAFSON June 21, 1936 - November 3, 2010 It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Donald Olafson at his home on Wednesday November 3, 2010 after a brief battle with cancer. Donny has now joined his beloved wife Shirley who predeceased him in 1990. Donny is survived by his children Joy (Dennis), Peter (Patricia), Laurie, and Donna (Darcy); grandchildren Scott (Cinzia), Brandon, Drew, Cassidy, Mark, Randy, Courtney, Shawn and Cole; brother Paul (Pat) Olafson and sister Mildred Fletcher; sisters in-law Jean Baxter and Lynda Thorne, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Per and Hilma Olafson. Our family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Health Sciences Center, the Palliative Care Program and the Home Care workers for the wonderful care given to our father. We would especially like to extend our deepest gratitude to Trish, his nurse. Most of all we would like to thank Aunt Millie and Uncle Paul for all their help over the years. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held.
