MARY SHEWCHUK (nee ROZNOWSKI) 1913 - 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother and Baba into the loving arms of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She will be lovingly remembered by her children; Jennie (Frank), William (Shirley), Roseann (John), grandchildren; Cindy (Tim), Russ (Mary), Jessica, Rochelle, Andrew, great- grandchildren; Thomas, Carlene, Miranda and Russell. In 1913 Mom was born in Meadowlands, Manitoba on a farm where she was raised with eight other siblings. In 1938 she moved to Rorketon where she married and built a home and resided until 2001. She raised three children and had to work hard as times were tough, but her faith kept her strong and she never gave up. She was an avid gardener; a wonderful cook and welcomed everyone with open arms. She was a loving and devoted Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend. She was caring, compassionate, always with an ear to listen and hands to help with pearls of wisdom to share. Mom loved people and had a hug for everyone she met. She served the Lord and His purpose to the last minute of her life. Our most sincere thanks to the devoted staff of the Grace Hospice whose caring, kind and compassionate care made our precious Mother's last two months so wonderful. Thanks also to the staff of St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit, you will all be lovingly remembered. Funeral Service will be held at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow in Rorketon Manitoba.
