Date of Passing: Oct 29, 2010
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN W. TUCK Peacefully, with his wife by his side, John (Joe) passed away on Friday, October 29, 2010 at the age of 70 years in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Remaining to cherish his loving memory are his devoted wife Mary; his children, John (Tara), Rob (Ann), Karen (Tim); his grandchildren, Brandon, Stephanie, Ally, Ben, Tegan and Reid; his sisters, Marg (Ian) and Barb (Steve); his brother Dave, as well as many nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his parents, John (Jack) and Dorothy. Born on March 8, 1940 in Toronto, Joe spent many colourful years studying engineering at Queen's University, and spent a large portion of his career at UMA Engineering in Winnipeg. In 1990, he and Mary moved to Nanaimo where he worked at Chatwin Engineering. Joe later pursued his dream and began Tuck Engineering. Joe had an unwavering love for sailing, fishing and golf. He spent many wonderful years with his family sailing out of the Northern Yacht Club on Lake of the Woods, and later navigated the ocean waters off the shores of Nanaimo. However, his greatest sense of love, commitment and pride in life was his family and friends. His contagious laugh and dry sense of humour will never be forgotten. An intimate family service celebrating Joe's life will be held in Nanaimo on Saturday, November 13, 2010. The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to the staff of the Nanaimo Travellers Lodge who treated him with compassion during his valiant and courageous fight with Alzheimer's Disease. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Alzheimer's Society or to the Nanaimo Travellers Lodge Society Building Fund. Dad we love and adore you, and will miss you dearly.
