EDITH EVADNE VINCENT May 15, 1917 October 30, 2010 At the age of 93, Edith passed away peacefully at The Sharon Home in Winnipeg. She is survived by cousins, Helen (Jack) Campbell, Hazel Boland, and Alice Grahame and Yvonne (Ron) Whiting, Pat Pendleton; nephews, Lloyd Grahame (Jr.), Lawrence Grahame; niece Jacqueline (Dennis) Maxted and children. She is also lovingly remembered by numerous other cousins, family and friends. Edith was predeceased by her parents, Erland E. Vincent and Susannah (nee Grahame); one brother Edwin; and her sister Muriel (2008), numerous aunts and uncles, and very special cousins, Howard and Lloyd. Edith was born at Wavy Creek in the Victoria District where she was baptised at All Saints Victoria Anglican Church (R.M. of Rockwood). In 1997, Edith was instrumental in having All Saints Victoria Anglican Church restored and recognized as Provincial Historical Site #97. Edith was raised in Stonewall, although she spent several years of her life at the Ninette Sanatorium as a patient. She later became a certified lab and x-ray technician and worked for the Department of Health at hospital labs in Winkler, Portage, Swan River, Gladstone and finally Teulon from where she retired in 1983. Edith was secretary of the Rockwood Historical society for many years. Edith was a past worthy matron of Aurora Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and was at the time of her death a member of the Jephthah Chapter No. 22 OES. Through Eastern Star she travelled extensively, and had many friends wherever she went. Edith was a lifelong member of the Anglican Church of the Ascension in Stonewall. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Anglican Church of the Ascension in Stonewall. Interment will follow at the Stonewall Cemetery.
