RICHARD JAMES MILLS April 15, 1917 - November 4, 2010 It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Richard Mills, aged 93, at the Grace Hospital. Predeceased by his parents, Richard and Margaret; wife Rose; and daughter Valerie. Left to mourn his passing are his daughter Marilyn (Dennis); grandchildren, Morris, Shawn and Marlo (Jamie); great-grandchildren, Tyler, Evan and Rowan, as well as nieces, nephews and friends. Richard was born and raised in St. James. Richard and Rose considered themselves fortunate to live happily in their Charleswood home, until they were placed in Deer Lodge Centre, Richard at age 90, Rose at age 92. Richard got great pleasure from gardening and was a lifelong dog lover. He enjoyed visiting with and talking about his great-grandchildren. Richard looked forward to going out for Tuesday lunch and his almost daily visits to Chad's Place. Special thanks to management, nurses and staff of the 7th floor Tower Deer Lodge Centre, all the volunteers and patrons of Chad's Place and all the other health care specialties involved in Richard's excellent care and for their compassion shown to Richard in his final years. Also special thanks to the nurses and staff on the 2nd floor Grace Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Salvation Army, 180 Henry Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3B 0J8 or a charity of your choice. In keeping with Richard's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the Worship Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, 2109 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, with Chaplin Anna Eli Epp officiating. Reception to follow service. Private interment will take place at a later date at the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
