Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBASILLA (BASHEE) KHAN August 17, 1935 November 5, 2010 Sadly on Friday, November 5, 2010, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away surrounded by her loving family, her caring extended family and friends. Mommy was predeceased by our father Shadim Khan; and siblings, Saheed, Rahaman (Flora), Adam and Eva (Eveard). She leaves behind her loving children, Fazal (Luchie), Yasmin (Ali), and Farouk (Shireen). Her grandchildren, the light of her life, Roweena (Ryan), Alan, Amanda (Dave), Ryad, Imran, Jamal, Shameer; and great-grandson Amari. She also leaves behind her loving sister Shirley (Taza); brother Patrick (Janet); sisters-in-law, Zamila, Esther, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mommy was born in No. 79 Village, Corriverton, Guyana to Hashim and Jamiran Hussain. She was married on April 20, 1952 and shortly after she moved with her young family to Georgetown. In Georgetown, Mommy and Daddy were very hard working and popular in the community always helping various faiths and in turn making long lasting friends. In 1980, we lost our Dad and shortly thereafter Mommy and Farouk immigrated to Winnipeg to join Yasmin and her family. In Winnipeg, Mommy continued to lend a helping hand whenever and wherever needed. She took pride in taking care of her grandchildren who will forever remember their devoted Grandma. She was their light and they were hers. Mommy was a deeply spiritual person and never missed her five daily prayers. She was loved and respected by all. The family would like to thank all relatives, friends, staff of Seven Oaks and Womens Hospital for their unwavering support through these deeply emotional times. Viewing will take place on Monday, November 8, 2010, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Janazah / funeral prayers will follow at the Grand Mosque, 2445 Waverley St. at 12:30 p.m. and followed by interment at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. May Allah have mercy on our mother's soul and give her a restful place in Janatal-ul-Firdaus. Innaa Lillaahi Wa Innaa Ilayhi-Raaji-uun / Verily From Allah (SWT) We Came And To Him We Are Returning.
