ILENE LINDA PHILLIPS With great sadness, we announce the passing of Ilene Phillips, on November 5, 2010 at the age of 78, in the Portage District General Hospital. Ilene leaves to cherish her memory her children Colleen, Terrie (Chester) and Robert; grandchildren Amanda, Laura, Bradley, Timothy, Katelin and Derek; great-grand-children Chance, Brianna, Marcus and Carter; brothers Ronald (Terry) and David; sister Dorothy (Wayne) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents William and Freida Elke; brother Donald; sister-in-law Sandra and husband Cecil. Ilene was born in Amaranth on July 21, 1932 and attended school in the Falmouth District. Ilene raised her family in Amaranth, where she worked numerous jobs and was an active community member. Ilene enjoyed spending time with her family and was a great homemaker. She was an avid bird watcher and took pleasure in feeding wild birds in her yard. The family would like to express thanks for the care provided by staff at the Portage Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 12, 2010 at the Amaranth Community Hall with Rev. Don Lee officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Amaranth Cemetery.
