STEVE REZNIK The Family of Stephen Reznik, with heavy hearts, wish to announce the passing of our beloved brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend who laid down his tools and entered into rest at the Arborg and District Hospital on October 27, 2010. Steve Reznik was born on August 24, 1920 to Alexander and Mary Reznik at Arborg, Manitoba. Steve leaves to mourn his passing and to celebrate his life his brother Henry Reznik, three sisters, Bertha Silk (Gordon) of Winnipeg, Stephanie Price (Frank) of Winnipeg and Patricia Monkman of Vancouver and special sister-in-law Lorraine Reznik of Arborg. Many nieces and nephews will also miss him. Steve was the fifth child of 14 born to the pioneer family of Alexander and Mary Reznik. Predeceasing him were Frank in infancy, sisters Laura, Anne, Jean, Elsie, Rose and Nell, brothers John and Mike, and three nieces. Steve was proud to have served his country during the war in both the Cameron Highlanders and the Winnipeg Grenadiers. He served in both Europe and the freeing of Holland as well as in the Aleutians Islands in the Pacific against the Japanese. On return from service, Steve farmed with his father and brothers on the family farm founded by Alexander and Mary Reznik in 1911. Steve enjoyed 90 years of productive life on the farm that will celebrate its centenary in 2011. The family would like to thank the members of the ambulance services for their prompt response and assistance as well as the Doctors and Staff of the Arborg Hospital. We would also like to thank Brenda Shattler and Christina Fridfinnson for their home care during Steve's illness and housekeeping's Jacquie Sigurdson for her kindness and services. Cremation has taken place and Steve was laid to rest in a private family ceremony in Bjarmi Cemetery on October 30, 2010.
