ANNE JOHANNSON Peacefully on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the Betel Personal Care Home in Gimli, MB, Anne Johannson passed away at the age of 94, with family by her side. Anne was born in Rábakecöl, Hungary on July 26, 1916. She immigrated to Canada with her family in 1925 at the age of nine. She lived on the family farm near Hnausa, MB. She met Thor Johannson through her work in Riverton and they were married in 1941. Anne loved to travel and enjoyed excursions to Iceland, Hungary, England and many other places. She enjoyed handicrafts and knitted extensively for her family and friends. Family was very important to her and she showed her love by being involved in their lives. Her five sons were the light of her life. Anne was predeceased by her parents, Jozef and Rozalia Tuba, husband Thor, grandson Scott, and brothers Albert (Yolanda), Joe (Margaret) and George. Anne is survived by her five sons, Thor (Marilynne) and their daughters Charis and Tammy; Douglas (Roseanne) and their daughters Denise (Gary) and Leslie (John); Bob (Patti) and their children Pamela, Iian (Faith) and James (Linsey); Len (Shelley) and their sons Brian (Lisa) and Kevin (Julia); and Ken (Jill) and their children Bentley and Jeremy (Victoria). She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren. To celebrate Anne's life, a funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the Riverton-Hnausa Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at the Riverton Community Cemetery. Special thanks to the staff at Betel Personal Care Home for the excellent care they've given Anne over the years, and for the kindness and support shown to us all. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Anne's name to the Riverton Community Cemetery (care of General Delivery, Riverton, MB R0C 2R0) or the Riverton-Hnausa Lutheran Church (Box 149, Riverton, MB R0C 2R0), or to a charity of one's choice.
