Date of Passing: Nov 06, 2010
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD ALLEN WAUGH Peacefully, on Saturday, November 6, 2010 in Winnipeg, our loving Husband, Father and Grandfather, Edward Allen passed away, at the age of 90. Born in Montreal, Quebec, to James and Margaret, on February 3, 1920, he is survived by his beloved wife, Joan Carol; and his children, Allen (Aline), Linda (Mike), Steve, Jane (Monie), Tony (Jeannette); and stepsons, Colin (Deb) and Tony, as well as 15 grand-children and numerous great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his first wife, Evelyn (Metcalfe) and cherished daughter Elaine. In his 90 years, Dad did many things and accomplished so much. He served his country well in the Second World War, was shot down and spent 2 and one half years as a POW. Post war, he built by hand, the family home which still stands beautifully to this day, and has been lived in by his family ever since. Dad's loves in later life were sketching, crosswords, building his backyard deck, designing and overseeing the creation of his dream pergola, patio and gardens. Our family wants to especially thank his nephrologist, Dr. Lisa Miller for giving us one last year with Dad, which included his 90th birthday, a glorious summer and a fun Thanksgiving. As well, thanks go to Trish and the efforts of the W.R.H.A. Palliative Care Unit for Dad's daily needs. He will be sadly missed by all who loved him, and we will carry his memories and humour with us always. In accordance with Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family service is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dad's favourite cause, Darcy's A.R.C., 730 B Century Street, Winnipeg, MB R3H 0M1. Chapel Lawn 885-9715

Hello, I've been trying a long time to trace (the family of) Edward Waugh. Sorry to hear he passed away in 2010. In fact, back in 1991, I started a historical study on what happened to him during WW2. He was a crew member of a Stirling plane shot down, not so far away from where I live, at the village of Melsele, back in 1943. He was the sole survivor of the crew. Last week, we once again returned to the place where Stirling BK815 hit the ground, and again found pieces of the plane. Is it possible to contact me at cdedecker@bom-be.be ?
