AMANDA LAGASSE (nee MEILLEUR) November 15, 1926 - November 9, 2010 It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Amanda Lagassé who is now in the arms of God. She will be lovingly missed by Léo, her devoted husband of 62 years, her children, Céline Perron (Ray), Robert (Chris), Aurèle (Deanna), Juliette Martinez (Frank), Donald (Louise), Joanne Long (George); grandchildren Michael Perron, Nicholas (Melanie) Perron, Matthew Lagassé, Jennifer (Christopher) Biermann, Brittany Lagassé, Alex Lagassé, Keturah (Jim) Webber, Namura (Emmanuel) Nkeze, Latonya (Douglas) Leek; great-grandchildren, Nolan Perron, Mitchell Biermann, Rebecca Biermann, Joseph Nkeze, Izahna Nkeze. Born in Fisher Branch, Manitoba, she leaves behind her beloved sisters Delia Bernier and Eva Bernier and brother Auray (Simone) Meilleur as well as over 100 nieces and nephews. Amanda was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters. The family greatly appreciates the continuous support of August (Claire) Lagassé, Yolande Lagassé, Eliane Lagassé and Trudy (Lorenzo) Battistello Amanda was a warm and gracious woman who was devoted to her family, creating a loving home. She delighted in family gatherings. She was very creative; some of her many talents included sewing, crocheting, painting and was a very skilled chef. Best of all, she did a mean jig. She had le joie de vivre! Funeral mass will be celebrated at the St. Adolphe Roman Catholic Church in St. Adolphe, Manitoba on Friday, November 12 at 2:00 p.m. Viewing will begin at 1:30 p.m. The service will terminate at the church. Interment of Amanda's cremated remains will take place in the St. Adolphe Parish Cemetery at a later date. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements, 775-2220.
