WENDY DIANE JACKSON August 9, 1954 - November 8, 2010 With sadness the family of Wendy would like to notify people who knew and cared for her of her untimely death. Wendy was born at Health Sciences Centre and the family resided in Winnipeg and relocated to the Jackson family farm in the RM of Springfield when she was six years old. Wendy initially started her education in the 1 room school houses in North Springfield then moved to Oakbank when she entered grade 9. Wendy was a fearless competitor in all sports, but particularly excelled in basketball. She became well known and respected on the court. She played for the Lady Bisons while at the University of Manitoba. Wendy became a Physical Education teacher, instructing the youth at Andrew Minarski and Tech Voc School. Her education career was cut short due to ill health. Wendy loved animals having a special relationship with her childhood pony Monica and particularly gnarly old Tomcat. Predeceased by her father, Alvin Jackson in 1994. Left to grieve is her mother Kathleen Jackson, brother Wayne (Gloria), sister Carol (Tom), nephews Lawrence and Dale and her niece, Karra. There will be no formal service, instead donations can be made to the Humane Society of Winnipeg if you so choose.
