INEZ IRENE TOWNSEND December 21, 1910 - November 5, 2010 The Townsend Family is sad to announce the passing of Inez Townsend, at the age of 99 years, at the Charleswood Care Centre in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her father, Bertie Townsend, her mother Amy Townsend (McKew), her brothers Albert, Harold, Leonard, Stanley, Herbert (Bert), Earle, and her sister Grace. Inez is survived by her remaining brother, George who was very close to Inez and provided her with care and support that helped her live in her own home as long as possible. She has many nieces and nephews. Inez was a very independent woman and prided herself in her ability to be organized and on top of all of her personal matters. She enjoyed sports and developed a strong relationship with a number of close girlfriends with whom she enjoyed traveling. Inez worked from her teens until her retirement, with the family business, Townsend Plumbing Heating Co. Ltd. that was started by her father. Inez chose to remain living in the Townsend family home to look after her mother when her father passed away in 1954. She always kept a lovely home and was glad to have visitors. In keeping with Inez's wishes, there will be no service and cremation has taken place. Inez's ashes will be interred in the Townsend family plot at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
