DONNA (MAUREEN) LAWRENCE At home in Burlington, Ontario on Saturday, November 6, 2010, Maureen Lawrence (nee Clarke) aged 66 years. Beloved wife of Bruce Lawrence. Loving mother of Jennifer Lawrence (Jeremy MacFarlane) and the late Barrett Lawrence (1999). Cherished Ummy of Barrett and Teagan MacFarlane. Daughter of the late Alexander and Hulda Clarke. Dear sister of Ronald Clarke (Heather). Aunt of Hayley, Patty and Gordon Clarke. Also survived by great-nephews Caleb and Liam. Private cremation has taken place. Maureen was known to all who were touched by her as a kind, gentle, thoughtful and caring person. She demonstrated her patience as everyone's Mom and always supported those in need. If you were her friend you had a supporter and close confidant for life. Unconditional love is the legacy she leaves behind. Maureen was not one to put on airs . She spoke from the heart in support of family and friends. She grew up in Winnipeg and attended Daniel McIntyre High School and the University of Manitoba where she met her husband Bruce. She was of Icelandic and Irish heritage and was a granddaughter of the Poet Laureate of Iceland, Guttomur J. Guttormsson. She will be deeply missed but we are grateful for the wonderful memories she has left behind. A Celebration of her Life, in lieu of a funeral service, will take place at the family residence at 120 Birett Drive in Burlington, Ontario on Saturday, January 8, commencing at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
