JOHN ERIC HORNING July 6, 1927 to November 10, 2010 Dad silently slipped away with his family by his side at the age of 83. John was predeceased by his wife of 51 years Anna Mary in 2002. He is survived by his son George and daughter Julie (Nick); grandchildren Mandy-Raine, Michael, Colleen (Sheldon) and Eric (Brittany); great-grandchildren Kole, James, Nicholas and Gracie-Lee; sister Marjorie (Arnold); numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Dad was in the Armed Forces for 27 years and after settling in Winnipeg he retired his final job was at Atomic Transfer as a trailer mechanic. He loved fishing, a good game of Rumoli and having a drink with friends. Dad you will be missed so much by all. A kinder person you would not meet. Many thanks to all the people that helped Dad transition from home to the hospice. And a big thank you to the staff at the Grace Hospice you made it a little easier to deal with as you are a kind and caring group of people. Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, with reception to follow. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
