DENISE THERESE BAXTED It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Denise Baxted, our wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, on Monday, November 8, 2010 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 88 years. Remaining to forever cherish Denise's memory is Jack, her husband of 67 years of marriage; daughter Jacqueline Morrissette (Rene); grandson Michael Gemmill; granddaughter Pamela Gibbons (Jim) and great-granddaughter Jada Gibbons; as well as her loving sisters and brothers, Juliette, Mary Jane, Leo, Henry and the extended Benjamin family. Denise was born in Alberta, but raised on the family farm in St. Norbert with her 11 brothers and sisters. After she and Jack married in 1942 they lived in East Kildonan for many happy years. She was a devoted wife and mother, anyone who came to visit was always greeted with a warm smile and a genuine interest in their lives. Denise enjoyed sewing and making doll clothes. Family get-togethers meant everything to her. She loved traveling and was fortunate to have been to Alaska, Hawaii, Florida, California and New York. Denise worked at Hudson Bay Company downtown for many years, and loved her work and the many friends she made there. She was a woman of impeccable taste and refinement and will be dearly missed. A private service will be held for Denise in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Ave. at Sharp Boulevard. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Grace Hospital.
