Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORRAINE MCPHERSON (nee RATHERT) July 20, 1932 - November 2, 2010 Born and raised in the Starbuck/Brunkild area, attending the Prairie View School where she made many lifelong friends. She loved baseball from an early age and followed the Blue Jay and Goldeyes games even as her eyesight began to fail. She married Art in 1952, together they farmed and raised four children; Wayne, Mark, Warren and Karen. Throughout the years she supported with pride all of their achievements, drove the local school bus a 67 Chevy Station Wagon , taught Sunday School, baked her cherished table full of bread, angel food cakes loaded with hidden treats, cabbage rolls and famous perogies, and packed community Halloween and Christmas treat bags. When her sons became interested in go-carts, then motorcycles, and cars she shared her concern for their safety. With Art, she loved playing cribbage with friends, participating in Snowmobile Poker Derbies from which she proudly acknowledged her Green Turtle' award for the slowest to finish. With the arrival of each grandchild: Roberta (Travis), Ellen, Andrew, Deborah, David and Ryan she proudly attended each of their school concerts, sports and activities. She enjoyed watching them achieve each of their personal bests and dreams. Often she would invite them for lunch or for after school meals and activities, and shared her love for baseball, cards, and Jeopardy game with them. Thank you to everyone who visited Mom at the Manor in Sanford and while she lived in Winnipeg. Mom appreciated each of your visits and flowers that were sent to brighten her day. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to the Canadian Diabetes Association. It is difficult to find the words to express our gratitude for the many kindnesses and emotional support friends and family have shown us during this difficult loss of our mother and grandmother. We are so grateful for all you have done for us. The cards, letters, phone and email messages, and visits meant a great deal to us as we struggled with our heartbreaking loss. At times like these, the company of friends is incredibly comforting. Warren, Wayne, Cheryl, Roberta, Travis, Ellen Andrew.
