RUBY ELLEN THOMPSON (nee MCMURRAY) Peacefully, on November 2, 2010, Ruby passed away at the Victoria General Hospital. Ruby will be lovingly remembered by her family: Lynne Axworthy, Winnipeg; Deborah and Mark Thorvaldson, Vancouver; Margo and Danny Blackwood, Fernie, BC; grandchildren, Ashley Thorvaldson, Ottawa; Joanna Thorvaldson and Colleen Thorvaldson, Vancouver; and David Blackwood, Calgary; her brother Jim (Isobel) McMurray, Ottawa; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, David in 1998, and her son, Terry in 1976. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Ruby's memory to The Victoria General Hospital Foundation, 2340 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R3T 2E8, The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, 300-1090 West Pender Street, Vancouver, BC V6E 2N7 or a charity of one's choice. Her name was Ruby, and she truly was a jewel. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
