MARTHA (META) MCCLURG (nee BOWERS) August 24, 1924 - November 12, 2010 With tears in our eyes and hearts full of love, we announce the passing of Meta McClurg with her family by her side after a brief illness on November 12, 2010 at the Concordia Hospital. Meta was predeceased by her sister May Sharpe, brothers Tom and Alex Bowers, nephews Donald Sharpe, Jeffrey Bowers and niece Lynn Coulter. She leaves to mourn her passing her son David McClurg at the St. Amant Centre, her brother Jack Bowers of Richmond, BC her sisters-in-law Sylvia of Richmond, BC and Lil Bowers who resides in Transcona, many nieces and nephews all of whom she had close, loving relationships with. Meta was a lifelong resident of Transcona and talked about the prairie and the good old days many times. Meta was a warm hearted, kind person and it showed in the love and respect she received from her family. There will be many family gatherings where she will be mentioned and smiles will be seen upon our faces, she most definitely will never be forgotten. A celebration of Meta's life will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2010 in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Meta's name to the St. Amant Centre.
