MELANIE TAMARA OLTHOF (nee KITSON) After a courageous battle with cancer and with her family by her side, Melanie passed in the morning of November 13, 2010 at the age of 37. She will be sadly missed by her husband Frank and their daughters Mara, Casey, Kendra and Dylann, her mother Valerie, her father Bill (Rosemary), her brother Darryl (Dawn), her mother and father-in-law Rita and John, Frank's brothers Steve (Josee) and Ray (Kim), and many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends. Melanie was born on August 2, 1973. She loved her family and was a teacher by trade. She had a passion for travel, reading, baking, T.V. and shopping. She volunteered in her home community of Oakbank. Melanie touched the hearts of many and kept her humour and beautiful smile until her final days. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Concordia Hospital (your care for her was amazing), CancerCare, her support group at Health Sciences Centre, special friends Debi, Charmaine, Sharon and Kristen (and many others) for their love and support, Dr. Harris and Dr. Pitz. Service will be held at Gateway Church (Kings School) 851 Panet Rd., Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba Centre of Hope, 691 Wolseley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
