JANET MORRISON It is with great sadness that we announce the passing, in her 79th year, of our dear wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Janet Morrison on November 14, 2010, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She died with her family by her side. Janet was predeceased by her parents, Omer and Augusta Snowaert and her brother Danny. Janet will be remembered by her beloved husband Hugh, with whom she recently celebrated and enjoyed a 60th wedding anniversary, her devoted son Bob and her two grandchildren, Christopher and Jessica, who were an enormous source of joy in her life. Janet loved her family dearly. She considered herself blessed with a very kind and patient husband, a caring son, who was her greatest source of pride and two wonderful grandchildren who she adored. Janet was thrilled when the grandchildren came along and felt privileged and proud to be involved in their many activities from school concerts, sports, music festivals or just hanging out with them. Reflecting her love for her family, Janet has carefully chronicled, through hundreds of photographs, the family history covering four generations. It is a wonderful sentimental journey to view them. Also special to Janet were the children of her long-time friend Sharon, namely her godson Brent and her namesake Janet, who remained a loving constant in her life until the end. Janet also wanted to express her gratitude to the mother of her grandchildren, Jennifer Cooper, for her support and friendship over the years, which she greatly valued. Janet also had a special place in her heart for her other grandchild , Winston, Bob's loveable but completely insane Jack Russell Terrier. She could never hear enough about his antics, could never inquire enough about his well-being or impart enough advice about his care. The illness that claimed Janet's life was only discovered recently and became acute very suddenly. Janet was immensely grateful to those, beyond her immediate family, who assisted her in this most difficult time. With her son Bob residing in Ottawa, her dear friend Sharon arranged for the ambulance and her arrival at St. Boniface Hospital. Her former daughter-in-law Krista Erickson was by her side and cared for her and Hugh for several days until Bob could arrive. Janet was a very private person. Despite many personal and professional accomplishments, she wished only this very brief obituary and, as will surprise no one who knew her powerful personality, directed most of its simple contents in the final days of her life. She wished no formal service of remembrance. Her final hope was that her family and friends will remember her with love and kindness, will remember her spirit, her energy, her laugh, her loyalty, her generosity and will remember all the good times shared with her. Her final advice was always remember to love one another. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E. J. COUTU CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald St. 253-5086
