EVELYN JONINA STONEHAM
Date of Passing: Nov 14, 2010
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVELYN JONINA STONEHAM We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our mom Evelyn Jonina Stoneham, wife of the late Frank Stoneham, on November 14, 2010 at the Grace Hospital. Mom grew up on the family farm at Lake Manitoba Narrows. She was born into a busy farm life and learned early the benefits and rewards of hard work. She was a very good student and spoke fondly about her school days. At age 19 she married the love of her life Frank Stoneham. They moved to Winnipeg and shared 46 years together raising three children Debbie (Tim), Brenda and Brian (Cherie). Mom spent most of her life caring for her family. She was a fantastic cook and took great pleasure in preparing our favourite dishes, especially for the grandchildren, Jeffrey, Sabrina and Holly. Mom's favourite sports were baseball and curling, she was on many teams and loved the action. Watching curling bonspiels on T.V. was always one of her favourite pastimes. Mom enjoyed her part time jobs especially her years working as a merchandiser where she travelled to stores meeting people and making friends. Mom and Dad started travelling early in their marriage. As kids we travelled and camped every year. Later their travel tastes took on an international flavour. They went south as snowbirds, took cruises and travelled abroad. Mom loved to talk in great detail about their adventures and the people she met and knew. After dad passed away five years ago mom found it really difficult to find joy. We were not ready to lose our mom but know she is glad to be back together with dad because life without him was so difficult for her. Service will be held on Friday, November 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7. NEIL BARDAL INC. FUNERAL CENTRE (204) 949-2200 nbardal.mb.ca
