Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALVIN JAKE KLASSEN Suddenly at home Alvin (Al) Jake Klassen, husband, father, grandpa and brother passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2010. Al is survived by his loving wife Sharon, daughter Tracey, son-in-law Serge and his three grandsons, whom he thought the world of, Thomas, Austin and Jordan. Also surviving him are his siblings Diane (Jake), Sharon, Bob (Darleen), and Barbara, along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Jake and Helen and in-laws Cecil and Viola. Al was born in Manitou, MB on September 4, 1944 and was raised on the family farm in Snowflake, MB. At the age of 12, upon his Dad's sudden death, Al helped with the family farm until he moved to Winnipeg at the age of 18. In 1965 he began working with Canadian Propane (ICG), and held various positions until 1993 when he started his own propane safety training company, New Wave Learning. Al and Sharon were married on December 4, 1965 and would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary this year. Throughout the years they enjoyed their time at Pelican Lake and most recently looked forward to their winter getaways in Phoenix. Al loved going for coffee with his buddies Ken and Duffy and breakfast with good friend Erik. Al loved his family and especially spending time watching his grandsons grow and going to all of their activities. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Al's memory to a charity of choice. Memorial service will be held on Friday, November 19, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. You will be missed! Chapel Lawn 885-9715
