MILLIE GONSKE (nee MYERS) Millie Gonske, 92, was called to her eternal home on Friday, November 12, 2010. She was born in Tolstoi, Manitoba on May 20, 1918 and moved to Morris in late 1930s, then to Winnipeg in 1961. Family was very important to her. She had a servant's heart that family, friends and neighbours appreciated. She loved to cook and always was prepared with food for the unexpected guest. Friends and family thoroughly enjoyed the bounty from her garden and the gifts of crocheted afghans. She was predeceased by her husband Leonard, of 51 years in 2003; her brothers Henry, Adolph, William, Ray, Alec, Henry, Charles, Sam and Edward; and sisters Lydia, Julia, Alvina, Lillian and Martha. Millie leaves behind sisters Dorothy Stone and Tillie (Ernie) Schindle; brother-in-law Alfred (Frances) Schilke; daughter Elizabeth (Gerald) Wachsmann and son Arthur; grandchildren Catherine (Robert) Betts, Connie, Carolynn (Delbert) Pedrick, Mark (Jodi) Gonske, Christie (Rob) Patterson; great-grandchildren Jeremy, Julia and Jazzlynn Betts, Cole, Davlynn, Danica and Denelle Pedrick, Braeden, Landon and Jamison Gonske, Cameron, Carter and Mackenzie Patterson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 19, 2010 at Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home, 577 St. Anne's Road, Winnipeg, MB with viewing one hour prior to the service. Donations in her honour may be made to the Meadowood Chaplaincy Fund. Family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Meadowood for all the special care they so graciously gave to Millie. Fond memories and condolences can be made online at www.mem.com or www.klassenfuneralhome.com Thank you Millie for all the wonderful times, the family dinners, the smiles and laughter you brought to our lives; and for instilling values that still guide us today.
