FRED JOHANSON On November 13, 2010 at Misericordia Place, Frederick (Joe) Johanson, at the age of 95 years, peacefully passed away. Fred was predeceased by his wife, Natalie (nee Zeleniuk) in 2001. He is survived by his nephews Dennis Johanson and wife Elizabeth; Kurt Johanson and wife Shirley; nieces Sheila Shadd and husband Gary; Karen Allard and husband Paul; Sandra Loewen and husband Jake; and Valdene Johnson and husband John. He is also remembered by many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Fred was born in Sweden on September 4th, 1915. Fred was a paratrooper during WWII. In his early years, Joe enjoyed fishing, camping, flying, crafting fishing lures and caring for his cats. He was a life member of Windsor Lodge, member of the Khartum Shriners Oriental Band, and a member of the St. James Legion. A family graveside service will be held on Friday November 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Vital Cemetery. The family would like to thank Misericordia Place for their kindness and care during his residence. In lieu of flowers, donations in Fred's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg Manitoba, R3T 9Z9.
