Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEONARD ARTHUR KINGSLEY RAILTON Leonard Arthur Kingsley Railton, peacefully, on November 16, 2010 in the arms of his loving and caring wife of 41 years, Carole. Leonard was born in Selkirk, MB February 21, 1944 to Frances (Sutherland) and Kingsley Railton, who predeceased him. He was also predeceased by his father-in-law George Stamm. Leonard leaves to cherish in his memory his son Len and daughter Donna (Cory) Campbell and precious grandchildren Valerie and Cameron; his only sister, Gail (John) Slashinsky and her children, Louise (Gary) Dillion and Gilbert (Angela) Drolet and their children; his mother-in-law Kristine Stamm, sister-in-law, Donna Clouston, brothers-in-law, David (Lynn) Stamm, Larry (Elsie) Stamm, Gus (Lori) Stamm and all their children. Leonard was a welcome member of the late Norman Burziuk (Betty Lee) and family before his marriage to Carole. Leonard went to school in Selkirk and to Sunday School and church at St. Clements Anglican Church. Johnny Fial introduced Leonard to what bricklaying was all about. He went to Red River Community College to get his journeyman papers and never looked back. Leonard so loved being a bricklayer that he would put in his eight hour shift and then go do some more somewhere else. Leonard was also a fireman for 23 years with the St. Clements-East Selkirk Fire Department. Leonard had a few things he was especially passionate about besides his family. Gardening with Carole, butter tarts, making excellent use of Wellbond and feeding the birds. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 19 (today) at 1:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk with The Venerable Godfrey Mawejje officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Clement's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethesda Place, 399 Hospital Dr., Steinbach, MB R5G 0E6.
