Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH ANTHONY CANTAFIO Peacefully and surrounded by loved ones, Joseph Anthony Cantafio passed away in the early morning on Monday, November 15, 2010 at Riverview Health Centre. Dad was predeceased by his beloved wife Serafina in 2009. Dad is survived by his loving children, Linda, Rosemarie (Tony), Gloria and Josie (Dean); grandchildren, Tony, Pam, James, Greg, Cathy, Jody, Jared, Michael, Sarah and Christopher, 14 great-grandchildren. Also sisters, Kay (Dave), Rose, Eva; and sisters-in-law, Virginia and Kay. Dad was born in Amato, Italy on March 17, 1918. At the age of six, his family immigrated to Canada and settled in Winnipeg. Dad worked for the CNR for over 43 years retiring in 1980. Dad married Mom on July 12, 1941 and had a long happy 67 years together. Dad was a man of many talents; he could build or repair just about anything. His hobbies were bowling, cooking and shopping with our Mom. We could always count on Dad to lend us a helping hand. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Parish Church at 510 River Ave. with Father Sam Argenziano presiding. Entombment will be at Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley followed by a reception at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. Pallbearers will be his six grandsons, Tony, James, Greg, Jared, Michael and Christopher. Honourary pallbearers will be his four granddaughters, Pam, Cathy, Jody and Sarah. The family wishes to extend special thanks to all the staff of CD2 for the compassionate and loving care given to our Dad for the last five years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CD2, Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Avenue East, Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4.
