ESTHER ELIZABETH PEARSON (nee FILLMORE) Peacefully, with her family at her side, Esther passed on at HSC in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Gordon; her sister Jane Macklin and husband Laurence; and her parents, Betty and Elwyn Fillmore. Mom was proud of her family, Lorne (Jennifer), Jane Brown (Calvin), Nancy Mackie (Bruce) and Michael (Yvonne). She had eight beloved grandchildren, Matthew and Zachary Pearson, Sarah, Laura and Erin Brown, Meaghan and Duncan Mackie and Cole Pearson. She is also survived by her nephew, Jim Macklin. She was a loving member of The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston MA. Born in Winnipeg, Esther was raised near Clandeboye, on Fillmore Farm. She graduated from the University of Winnipeg and had satisfying employment as a Social Worker in Winnipeg and Calgary. In Calgary, she met Gordon and raised their family. Following Gordon's retirement from the oil industry, they returned to Clandeboye where they spent many happy years in their home, which Gordon had designed for Esther. Besides her family and friends, another of her loves' was travel. Annually, she spent February and March in Victoria, and September, in Alberta visiting family and her' mountains. In recent years, she enjoyed travelling farther afield with family, including cruising' to Alaska, touring Ireland, and visiting Boston and the eastern seaboard. Very recently, Mom enthusiastically toured the Maritimes with her daughters. Esther was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends in Clandeboye and across the country. A private memorial service and interment at Clandeboye Amalgamated United Church Cemetery will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Association for Community Living, 306-A Jemima Street, Selkirk, MB, R1A 1X1 or to a charity of your choice.
