Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELISABETH REMPEL (GOERZEN) (nee WIEBE) May 25, 1917 - July 29, 2010 Peacefully and with her daughter by her side, Elisabeth Rempel passed away on July 29, 2010 in Maple Ridge, B.C. Elisabeth was predeceased by her parents Elisabeth (1974) and Heinrich (1953) Wiebe, siblings Greta (1920), Justina (1925), Heinrich (1931), Anna (1932), Heinrich (1933), Gertrud (Fenske) (1993), husband Heinrich (unknown), husband Peter (1989). She will be sadly missed by her children Liz and Henry (Shirley), grandchildren Carol, Cindy, Shane, Cheryl, and adopted grandson Shelby, her great grand- children, her sisters Maria (Pastrick), Elsa (Henkel), and all her nieces and nephews. Elisabeth was born in Nowakuskowa, Russia, the second born of nine children. From Nowakuskowa due to economic hardships her family relocated extensively across Russia and Europe before finally settling in Canada in 1949. Elisabeth married Heinrich Goerzen in the Ukraine. They had two children, Liz and Henry. Her husband went missing during the Second World War and Elisabeth immigrated from Germany to Canada with her two children and sister Maria. She was eventually joined by her mother and the two sisters. Elisabeth worked as a nurse in Russia and later worked as a technician in the Microbiology lab at HSC in Winnipeg until her retirement. She married Peter Rempel in 1972. Elisabeth was very hard working with a great sense of humour and a quick wit. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed many different activities such as needlepoint, crochet, and going to the beach, blueberry picking with her sister Mary. Elisabeth was laid to rest in the Victory Memorial Cemetery, Surrey, B.C. on August 6, 2010. Don't tell me that you love me, show me. Auf Wiedersehen
