Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOREEN ALICE KIRKHAM (HEAMAN) Peacefully on November 10, 2010, our Mom and Grandma passed away. Mom was born on January 19, 1922 in Hargrave, MB, and was the third youngest of 12 children. In 1945, Mom moved to Winnipeg where she met our Dad Ernie. They were married for 43 years, before he predeceased her in 1996. Mom was an avid bowler and spent many afternoons at Mosienko Lanes. She enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles, solving the jumble and playing bingo at Prince Edward Legion where she was a member for 23 years. Mom was a great cook and made the best pies, cookies and cakes. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The grandchildren especially remember time spent with her playing crib, games and riding the bus downtown for lunch and shopping. Mom also took great pride in her home and yard where she resided for 52 years prior to moving to Concordia Place. There, she made new friendships and enjoyed taking part in the various activities. Her favourites were crib and bingo where she won prizes such as bags of cheezies, which she would save, to share with her great-grandchildren. Mom is survived by her son Terry (Patti), their children Jeanine (Carey), Jeff (Val), Jenn (Al); daughter Debbie (Larry), their children Trent (Camille, her children Brian, Lora, Becca, and Dusty), Devin (Loree), Barret; daughter Brenda (Bill), her children Krista (Chris), Trevor (Tanya, her son Devon); great-grandchildren Nathan, Gracie, Riley, TJ, and Kingsten. Mom is also survived by her brother Norman (Mary), sisters-in-law Inez, Belle, and Dorothy, and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life come and go Reception will be held on Monday, November 22 between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street. The family would like to extend their appreciation and thanks to all of the staff at Concordia Place for the wonderful care given to our Mother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Concordia Place or a charity of your choice. Your pain is over, You are in our hearts forever
