SHEILA MARGARET BELL (nee BATEMAN) Suddenly, on Friday, November 19, 2010 Sheila Margaret Bell left this world at the age of 58 years. Left to mourn Sheila are her daughters Roxane, Shawna (Kris); grandsons Jarret and Travis; nieces Jennifer and Heather; beloved pets Ben, Jake and Church as well as many close friends. She was predeceased by her partner Jim; husband Rob; sister Anne (Heseltine); in-laws Catherine and William and parents Eugenie and Thomas. Mom was kindness and grace. She loved her family and friends. Mom was born and raised in Winnipeg. She attended St. Mary's Academy. After graduation she followed her parents to Africa where her father was part of the team responsible for building the railways. Africa gave mom such an amazing world view. Shortly after returning from Africa, mom met her husband Rob, of almost 30 years. She and dad shared a great sense of humour and love of family. The holidays were very important to mom. She and dad always celebrated by opening their doors to anyone in need of good company and a good meal. After finding their own paradise with a cabin north of Gimli, mom and dad spent all of their free time at the lake. Tending to the gardens and swimming at the beach, the cabin was a source of great happiness for both of them. After dad's passing in 2003, mom was lucky enough to find love again with Jim. Jim made her laugh and shared her thoughtfulness for others. After a fire took the original cabin, they rebuilt and made it a home. Many days were spent talking, laughing and playing crib on the deck. It was beautiful. Mom's house was always filled with pets. Her animals were so special to her. When not planning their next escape, Ben and Jake traveled to the lake and back with her constantly. Mom was a wonderful grandmother to Jarret and Travis. She loved spending time with the two of them. They will miss her so much. We all will. On Wednesday, November 24, 2010 a Celebration of Mom's Life will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Sturgeon Creek Community Centre, 210 Rita Street. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the paramedics for trying so very hard. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Winnipeg Humane Society (www.winnipeghumanesociety.ca or D'Arcy's Arc (www.darcysarc.ca). Do no harm and leave the world a better place than you found it. - Patricia Cornwell

I knew Sheila in her time in Africa when she and her parents spent a few years in broken hill now Kabwe. She was Always happy and had a ready smile. Being an outdoor guy we water skied and her parents roped me into playing bingo. We were reliving old memories and my son googled her name.
