SAELENS November 15, 1932 - November 20, 2010 It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Pierre Saelens on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the Golden Door Personal Care Home. Predeceased by his infant son Pierre; father Paul; mother Louise; stepmother Alma; and parents-in-law Prime and Eugenie Gagnon. Pierre leaves to mourn his wife of 55 years, Agathe (nee Gagnon); daughters: Lilliane (Leo) Dusablon, Lac du Bonnet, MB, Louise (Marc) Jenvenne, Prince George, BC, Pauline (Len) Bellin, Lac du Bonnet, MB; sons: Paul and Claude (Linette) all of Winnipeg, MB; grandchildren: Justin, Colin, Kevin Dusablon; Courtney Readman; Jeremy Jenvenne; Greg, Jennifer Bellin; Devon, Christine, Dylan Saelens; great grandchildren: Lucas Readman and Maddox Dusablon; as well as his sister Marie Claire Leleu of France; sisters and brothers-in-law: Alice (Jack) Hartley; Edward (Pat) Gagnon all of Winnipeg; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Pierre was born in France and immigrated in 1946. Over the years he was an active member of the Belgian Club and Legion. He loved fishing, hunting and being at the lake, Wendigo, MB. A tin smith by trade, Pierre was always installing furnaces and air conditioners for family and friends. Although he loved working in sheet metal, his second passion was carpentry. From building their place at the lake to making fine cabinets, his family need only look around them to see his handy work. In keeping with Pierre's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, November 24 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Vital Church, located at 1629 Pembina Hwy.
