In Loving Memory of CODY SHEA BRYDGES The thought of his nonexistence would have been like endless space to him, never to be reached. He was nearing the end of his identity. No one could protect him from it. No one could share it with him. Was he aware of his imminent disappearing, his no longer being? It came so fast as everything was taken from him. We have seen his fingers touch everything he left behind. The simplicity of our lovely world the day before and the horror of the memory the day after. We stroked his forehead, kissed his cheek, ran a finger over the dimple in his chin one last time. We walked away from him as we captured one last glance. It is inconceivable to us that we have done that. There are no words to describe what happened to us that day. You cannot remain the same person you once were. We try to look at scenes of his life rather than his departure but either way we are without him. We will forever be grateful to The Compassionate Friends where parents who have put their child into the earth have the most profound gift of compassion for others. No one is under the illusion you can successfully use intellect to control the pain of such a devastating loss.We can speak Cody's name as often as it once was. We can sit in silence but understand every word. It's a place of serenity where we are not expected to let go of our children. They are already gone. Our Everlasting Love Cody's Family
