Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGWEN WYNES (STINSON) February 10, 1924 - November 17, 2010 Gwen, beloved wife of the late Bill Wynes, passed peacefully on November 17, 2010 at the age of 86. She leaves to mourn her sister Evelyn Metcalf (Glen), Lake Errock, BC, their children Mary Ann, Grant and Cameron; brother Alvin (Gertie) Stinson, Portage la Prairie, and their sons Gordon and Chris; nieces Judy Gleich, Pat Roberts, Darlene Sweetland and nephews Murray and Donald Halldorson of Lundar; sister-in-law Gladys Wynes of Winnipeg and her family Frank, Carolyn and Kathy, nephews Jeff and David Wynes of Ottawa. Also several great-nieces and nephews. Gwen was predeceased by her loving husband Bill in April 2010, her parents Bill and Helga Stinson, sister Irene Halldorson, her twin brother Clarence (Pat) and foster-brother Bert. Gwen was born and raised in Lundar. She worked at various jobs in Winnipeg and Fort Frances before settling in Portage where she worked at the Manitoba Developmental Centre for many years. Gwen was a long time resident of the Lions Prairie Manor. Her cheerfulness and pleasant manner will be missed greatly by the staff. Sincere thanks to the volunteers and staff (her Second Family) for the love and kindness shown to Gwen while caring for her. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2010 in the Herman Prior Centre, 40 Royal Road North, Portage la Prairie. A private family interment at Hillside Cemetery will precede this gathering. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lions Prairie Manor Foundation, 24 - 9th Street SE, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3V4.
