Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER NEUFELD September 4, 1935 - November 18, 2010 It is with sadness and rejoicing that we announce that Peter Neufeld went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at the age of 75 years. He will be remembered as our Brother, Step Father, Uncle and Papa. Peter was born in Winkler Manitoba and grew up on the farm in and around the Elm Creek, Manitoba area. He headed west as a young man to find his fame and fortune eventually settling in Calgary where he met and married our mother, Lore Oxley. Peter quickly found steady employment with Exchanger's Industries where he continued to work for the remainder of his working years. Peter had a high regard for the company and was very proud of his work there as a boilermaker eventually working his way up to shop foreman. He retired 10 years ago but has spoken fondly of his time with the company. Peter joined the Boilermakers Union, March 1968 (42 years) and was an active member till his passing and cherished his rewards for many years of service. Our fondest memories are the summer holidays camping and travelling to see family and friends in Manitoba, Ontario and the USA. Peter was a longtime Bowness resident and member of the Bowness Legion and always cherished this area as his home. Peter leaves to mourn his step children David (Edith) Oxley, Dagmar Vandal, sisters Betty (Harry Rubin) Klassen, Lydia Hildebrand, sisters-in-law Mae Neufeld and Edith Neufeld, step grandchildren Allison (Eddy) White, Cynthia (Frank) Baron, Travis (Laura) Oxley, Robin Oxley and numerous great-step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves to mourn special friend Fay Taylor and granddaughter Brianna Jays. Peter was predeceased by his father and mother Abe and Anna Neufeld, brothers Johnny, Abe and Ernie, sisters Ann Fehr, Marta Neufeld and Lena Somers, brothers-in-law Jake Hildebrand and George Fehr, step son Duncan Oxley and step son-in-law Leo Vandal. A Celebration of Peter's life will be held at FOSTERS GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. The family wishes to extend their thanks to The Foothills Hospital, Unit 23 and Brentwood Seniors Lodge for their excellent care and compassion.
