CONNIE CRESWELL The family of Connie Creswell is saddened to announce her passing on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at the Riverview Health Centre. Born on July 6, 1921, in Winnipeg, Connie was the youngest of the Creswell family, and was predeceased by her parents Ruth and Horatio, her brother Ralph, and sisters, Doris Lavallee, Irene Campbell and Mildred Delisle. Connie is survived by her nephew Don Ramshaw (Glenda) of Kelowna, BC and nieces: Shirley Elcombe (Al), White Rock, BC, Cathy Darbell, (John), Belmont, MB, Marilyn McMullan (Geoff) of Winnipeg, and Judy Butler (Phil) of Woodville, ON; as well as many grand-nephews and nieces and great-grand-nephews and nieces. Connie attended Isaac Brock and Gordon Bell schools before seeking employment with the T. Eaton Company where she worked for five years, after which she went to work for the Manitoba Telephone System. After 35 years, Connie retired in 1987. As a young girl, Connie's first love was softball, which she played for 15 years with the Ramblers and the Tigerettes. At the age of 31, she began a new and successful love, 5 pin bowling, which she played until in her 80s. The highlight of her bowling career was representing Manitoba at the Western Canada Championships in 1966. Other interests included badminton, travel, and casino bus trips. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Connie's life will be held on Friday, November 26 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. Please no flowers.
