FERN STEVENSON October 4, 1949 - November 22, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, koo koo, gran, sister and friend Fern Stevenson (Walking Thunderbird Woman) of the Peguis First Nation. She passed at the Riverview Health Centre on the morning of November 22, 2010 with family members by her side. Fern is survived by her son Darrin (Pam Swain); daughters, Elizabeth (Curtis) and Shannon (Robert); grandchildren, Justin (Keisha), Ashley, Jeremy, Dakota, Garrett and Rylee; her brothers and sisters, Dorothy, Della, Elsie (George), Rose, Josephine, Ken (Judy) and Richard (Mildred); also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and everyone who considered her an adopted mom and auntie. The family would like to send a very special thank you to Dr. Janice Richman-Eisenstat and Riverview Health Centre staff, all of whom were invaluable during our time of need. There will be a family viewing at her sister Josephine Bear's residence in Peguis on Wednesday, November 24, 2010. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 25, 2010 at 1:00 p.m., at the St. Matthew's Anglican Church in Peguis, MB. A feast will follow at the Peguis Community Hall. On Friday, November 26, 2010 a Winnipeg viewing and service will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Church Of The Open Door, 137 Euclid Ave., for all those unable to attend the service in Peguis.
