GREG ZIELKE It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Greg Zielke, aged 47 years, of Winnipeg, MB at Seven Oaks Hospital on November 20, 2010. Greg will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Gerri, mother Bernice, son Bryton, daughters Kiana, Kimberley and step-daughter Jodi (Steven), his granddaughters Aylah and Brooklyn, his brother Glen (Brenda), numerous aunts and uncles and many extended family members. Greg was predeceased by his father Herbie and his step-daughter Tara-Rae. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Horban, Len Yablonski, Darcy Krakalovich, Craig Anderson, Brian Anderson, Randy Podolsky, Martin Becx and Todd Gaudreau. Greg graduated from St. John's High School in 1981 and was an accomplished athlete. He spent his career in the food industry working for Blackwoods Beverages, Economart, Winnipeg Old Country and Sobeys. You could not have found a more dedicated and hard working man than Greg. His children were the light of his life. He was always very proud of their accomplishments and looked forward to every minute he spent with them. His dedication and love for them knew no boundaries and the joy they brought to his life cannot be put into words. Greg shared a very special closeness with his mother Bernice and his brother Glen. Bernice's love for Greg and his love for her created a bond that few have the privilege of knowing. Greg and Glen were more than just brothers they were close friends hanging out together, living together and always, always caring deeply about each other. Five years ago when Greg met Gerri he knew he had found the love of his life. The love they shared made every day they were together special. The empty place in Gerri's heart will be filled by the special memories of all that they shared together. Greg was a kind and gentle man. For everyone who had the honour of knowing Greg he touched a special place in their hearts. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who know him. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 1:00 p.m., at 1442 Main Street, Cropo Funeral Chapel with Nick Knysh officiating. A private interment will take place at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined. Should friends so desire, memorial contributions in Greg's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A trust fund has been set up for Greg's children.
