LAJOS (LOUIS) KAPOSI Kuksi Peacefully on November 22, 2010, Louis passed away at the Grace Hospice after a brief but courageous battle with cancer at the age of 83. He will be sadly missed by his wife, his children, their families, many friends and his dearest Gabriella. Dad was born on July 19, 1927, in Bate, Hungary and immigrated to Canada in June, 1957. He worked as a diesel mechanic for CNR Symington Yards before retiring in 1990. Dad loved all sports but his true passion was boxing. We are proud of his success claiming the title of European Champion in the middleweight category. He was in his glory watching his grandsons play hockey and he would beam watching his darling granddaughter strike out yet another BOY with one of her wicked pitches. Dad also enjoyed creating breathtaking crewel embroidery artwork. He loved spending time outdoors picking berries and mushrooms and, of course, fishing. He also cherished the time he spent playing cards with his buddies and socializing at the Hungarian Club. His family would like to thank the staff at the Concordia Hospital 3-E as well as the staff at Grace Hospice for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time. A sincere thank you is extended to the members and staff at the Lakewood Curves who offered tremendous support when one of their own needed it most. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - Prairies / NWT Division. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A service in Louis' memory will take place at the Hungarian United Church, 762 Ellice Avenue, on Sunday, December 5, 2010, at 12:00 p.m. A private interment will take place at a later date.
