JOSEPHINE KWIATKOWSKI (nee HALICKI) It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Josephine Kwiatkowski, aged 89 years, on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at St. Joseph's Residence, after a brief illness. She leaves to mourn a son, Richard (Lucille), as well as a sister, Bernice and a brother, Kazimer. She was predeceased by her husband Walter in 1981, her parents Stefan and Maria Halicki, a brother John, and a sister Helen. Josephine was born on August 14, 1921 in Poland. She came to Canada in 1959 and married Walter. She worked part-time in Eaton's store restaurants for many years. Mother was a devoted member of the Polish Combatants Association and Catholic Women's League of Holy Ghost parish. She was also a volunteer at Folklorama. In the summertime, gardening was her favourite pastime. A service will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street on Friday, November 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with an oblate father officiating. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Joseph's Residence Inc. and Misericordia Health Centre for taking care of Josephine. We ask that you say a prayer in her remembrance.
