Born: Mar 13, 1927
Date of Passing: Nov 24, 2010
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARJORIE (MARJ) JEAN LIPTROT March 13, 1927 to November 24, 2010 Mom passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on the evening of Tuesday, November 24 with her family by her side. Her husband Bob, her only sister Audrey Sedo, and her parents, Bob and Edith Dunbar predeceased her. She is survived by her daughters: Tanya (Blake) Cutting of Pinawa, Tracy (Brian) Quail of Winnipeg and her sons: Rob (Patty) Liptrot, her adored grandson, Quentin; and Dale Liptrot, grandchildren Mike and Bridget and four greatgrandchildren of Winnipeg, several nieces and nephews, and her faithful friend since childhood, Greta Fox. Mom was a homemaker for most of her married life. She took only a few part time jobs in order to be home with her family. She worked at the Bank of Montreal main branch and quit when she married Dad. Back in the 1940s and 50s married women did not stay working at the bank. When her children were older, she took a part time job at Ideal Filter until after Dad's retirement. Mom was always busy with things that involved her husband and children. She faithfully went to their Trailer at Caddy Lake and then the cottage at River Hills every weekend with Dad. We could always count on Mom to bake a pie or cookies or help in the kitchen for Guide and Scout banquets, to sew costumes for dance recitals and to be there to cheer us on. She helped Dad run the canteen at Orioles Community Club for many years. Mom was a very staunch supporter of her children. No matter what kind of trouble we got into, we could always count on Mom to defend us. Mom was also a prolific shopper. All you had to do was tell her about something you needed and could not find and she would find it for you and at a great price. We will miss you Mom. A private family service will be held. The family would like to send special thanks to the Staff of 4 West at the Deer Lodge Centre. We appreciate the wonderful, kind and compassionate care for our Mother that you provided in her final months. In addition, thank you to her roommates, Gwen for keeping an eye on Mom when we could not be there, and Audrey for being such a gentle and caring person. Flowers gratefully declined please. The family would appreciate donations in Mom's memory to Deer Lodge Centre Foundation, 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3 or a charity of your choice. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
