ANNE BARON 1924 - 2010 It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Anne Baron, widow of the late Michael Baron, on November 24, 2010 at the age of 86 years. She was predeceased by her husband in 1954, her father and mother, Steve and Xenia Repuszka and brother Daniel. She leaves to mourn her passing, her son Robert (Nancy); her grandsons, Joel and Graham; sister Mary Wiggins (Steve) and brother Peter of Toronto, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Anne was born in Winnipeg and raised in the RM of Springfield. She married Michael in 1949 and they lived in Winnipeg until his untimely death in January, 1954. She returned to live with her mother and father and raise her son. She was employed at Burns Meat Packers for many years and was able to buy a home of her own in Birds Hill where she resided until this past spring. Debilitated by a spinal infection, which left her partially handicapped, she was forced to semi-retire at an early age, yet kept busy gardening, working part-time at Ludwick Catering and playing bingo. After suffering a stroke in April of this year, she moved to St. Benedict's Place where she met new friends and made a new home. Mother loved her family and always chose their well being over her own. She was proud of her grandsons and loved when they came to visit. Even in her latter years, she loved to have her family come to her house on special occasions and worked so hard to make these meals the best they could be. We will deeply miss her. A special thanks to all who visited or called to say hello. Thanks to her friends at St. Benedicts and especially to Janice and Mila from Homecare for helping mother live the last of her life with dignity. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place, no formal service will be held. A family memorial will be held at a later date.
